Album Description

NEWMARKET MUSIC & HEARHERE Records are proud to announce the debut album from Gothenburg based alternative pop duo 'Mother Jack'....

'Shout Until Our Lungs Are Blue'!!!!!!!

'...the music is decidedly original and strangely fascinating...' DIG Jazz (SE)

Mother Jack is the work of two musicians - Casey and Johan Moir. Together they write all their music and lyrics as well as arrange all of their songs. The simple combination of double bass and vocals is the foundation for the Mother Jack sound. From this base they have added percussion, glockenspiel and numerous effects to create an atmosphere that is both rich in depth and dynamic – more than one would expect of such a setting.

Shout Until Our Lungs Are Blue was recorded by Mother Jack at Göteve Kapell in May and September 2014. All music and lyrics are written by Mother Jack. On a few tracks they have Isabel Sörling, Kristina Issa, Hanna Bylund, Erik Fastén and Filip Bagewitz singing choir. The album was mixed and digitally mastered by Per Stenbeck. The vinyl master was done by Hans Olsson Brookes at Svenska Grammofon Studio. The cover design and artwork is created by Stina Johansson.

'As much pop as it is experimental with looped voices, a hint of jazz, a little funk and seemingly melodic without actually being melodic. Not exactly sane. Yet great. And so much fun.’ Backafestivalen 2015

‘With a plethora of musical devices at their disposal, including glockenspiel, shaker, delay pedal and loop station “Mother Jack” left all and sundry in no doubt as to their musical ability and luminous talent.’ Melbourne Fresh Showcase, 2012.
