Newmarket Music presents the forthcoming release 'Hook Like And Sinker' from Australian jazz luminaries The Syncopators (formerly known as The Society Syncopators).
The Syncopators, billed by Australian jazz legend Graeme Bell AO, OBE as "...easily one of the top jazz groups in Australia today..." posses an enviable reputation as one of the most successful jazz groups to emerge from Australia.
Formed in 1984 by Chris Ludowyk, The Syncopators are by no means lacking in experience, having performed fourteen overseas concert tours and about to embark on their fifteenth. With a line-up featuring some of Australia's finest songwriters and jazz musicians, their talent is unsurpassed.
In 2009 The Syncopators won the Australian Jazz 'Bell' Award for the Best Australian Classic Jazz Recording for their release 'Live At The Famous Spiegeltent' and have been privileged enough to have performed at some of the most prestigious jazz festivals in the world.
The Syncopators latest, fifteenth recording brings to3 the table fourteen quality jazz tracks including several playful compositions from band members Richard Miller and Andrew Swann as well as exquisitely arranged jazz standards and other numbers ranging from the early nineteen-twenties to contemporary popular music like Paul Simon's 'Late In The Evening'.
