The material that makes up the album Run Run has been meticulously written and refined by Cameron over the past six years and delivers quality instrumental music that brings together the worlds of jazz and rock in a bold, colorful and exciting approach. The newly formed Cameron Earl Quartet brings together a diverse group of artists, who together form a highly original and intensely unique ensemble sound. Versatile and seasoned bandleader, composer and trumpeter for the quartet, Cameron Earl was recently announced as a finalist for the 2010 James Morrison brass Prize at the Melbourne International Brass Festival, and has played in a variety of ensembles around the Melbourne jazz scene. The quartet is made up of the original and quirky sounds of guitarist, and bandleader in her own right, Stella Skinner, and the dynamic bass and percussion duo that is Steve Temple and Matt Earl. Together these four make the Cameron Earl Quartet. Exceptionally recorded and mixed by Peter Bell, and mastered with talents of jazz aficionado and engineer Mal Stanley of ABC, the Cameron Earl Quartet’s Run Run has been wonderfully executed and brought to life.
